HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) pellets are small, biodegradable implants that are inserted under the skin to release hormones, typically estrogen or testosterone, over a sustained period. These pellets are used in HRT to help individuals, often during menopause or andropause, to maintain balanced hormone levels.

The pellets are about the size of a grain of rice and are usually inserted into the fatty tissue, often in the hip or buttocks area, through a minor surgical procedure. Once implanted, they gradually release hormones into the bloodstream, typically over the course of 3 to 6 months, depending on the individual's body and the type of hormone used.

HRT pellets are chosen by some patients for their convenience, as they avoid the need for daily pills, patches, or gels. However, like all hormone therapies, they should be prescribed and monitored by a healthcare provider, as they carry potential risks and side effects, such as changes in mood, skin reactions, or more serious risks related to cardiovascular health.
