Microblading or Shading Procedure Step by Step
1. Paperwork & aftercare instructions (10 min)
2. Brow shape measuring (30-45 min) You will be able to see how you will look with your new brow shape. We do not start the procedure until you are 100% pleased with the shape!
3. Numbing & shade selection (10 - 20 min) We use a topical numbing agent to dull the discomfort of microblading. You can expect a tolerable to completely dull level of sensation on your brow area during the procedure.
4. Microblading (30 - 45 min)
5. Leave looking fabulous! No swelling or downtime. You will be provided with aftercare instructions and a topical ointment for amazing healing.
Follow-up
1. 6-8 weeks later come back for touch-up visit (60 min) this time the appointment is shorter & easier. No measuring involved just a review of how your skin healed and the reinsertion of pigment where your skin metabolized or pushed it out.
2. Pigment will last 12-18 months depending on skin type, gradually fading over time

Possible risks, hazards or complications
Pain | There is a possibility of pain or discomfort even after the topical anesthetic has been used. Anesthetics work better on some people than others. |
Infection | Although rare, there is a risk of infection. The areas treated must be kept clean and only freshly cleaned hands should touch the areas. See “After Care” sheet for instructions on care. |
Uneven Pigmentation | This can result from poor healing, infection, bleeding or many other causes. Your follow up appointment will likely correct any uneven appearance. |
Asymmetry | Every effort will be made to avoid asymmetry but our faces are not symmetrical. Adjustments may be needed during the follow up session to correct unevenness. |
Excessive Swelling or Bruising | Some people bruise and swell more than others. Ice packs may help and the bruising and swelling typically disappears within 1‐5 days. Some people don’t bruise or swell at all. |
Anesthesia | Topical anesthetics are used to numb the area to be tattooed. |
Allergic Reaction | There is a possibility of an allergic reaction to the pigments or other materials used. You may take a 5‐7 day patch test to determine this. |
AFTER PROCEDURE EXPECTATIONS
During the first 7-10 days after your procedure there will be a yucky phase. The tattoo will change from healing day to day and this is normal.
1 to 3 |
Tattooed area will look 30% - 50% darker than the final healed result |
3 to 5 |
Skin may be flaky and scabbed. Light itchiness may occur. DON'T SCRATCH! |
5 to 10 |
Flaky skin & scabs will natural sluff off. Let this happen naturally and don't touch it. The tattooed area may appear light or barely visible (varies from person to person) this is normal |
10 to 30 |
During this period the pigment implanted underneath the skin will start to be more visible. Shaping of the healed brows may look less symmetrical due to the healing process. The color may also be either too light or too dark. This will be corrected at the touch up appointment. |
Microblading involves the insertion of pigment into the dermal layer of the skin and is a form of tattooing. Initially the color will appear more vibrant or darker compared to the end result. Usually within 7 days the color will fade 40‐50%, soften and look more natural. The pigment is semi‐permanent and will fade over time and will likely need to be touched up within 12 to 18 months. All instruments that enter the skin or come in contact with body fluids are disposable and disposed of after use. Cross contamination guidelines are carefully adhered to. Generally, the results of microblading are excellent. However, a perfect result is not a realistic expectation. It is usual to expect a touch‐up after the healing is completed
